BBYSL
is a recreational and an
educational organization committed to giving all eligible youth,
regardless of race, color, creed or athletic ability the freedom to
explore the game of softball. This exploration takes the form of
programs provided by adult volunteers devoted to excellence in the areas
of: Citizenship, Friendship, Leadership, Sportsmanship, and
Scholarship. All coaches, parents, spectators, umpires, and players are
encouraged to foster the ideals of trust, honesty, loyalty, courage, and
respect for authority.

IN 2010 - BBYSL has decided to accept a League Age 18
player (a player 18 years old as of January 1st) in the 19 and Older
Division if she can prove that she GRADUATED from high school in 2010 school year.
REGISTERED 18U Players may be used as call-up players in the 19 & Older Division if they appear on the league approved call-up list. They MUST BE a REGISTERED BBYSL 18U Division Player.
HISTORY In the Summer of 2008, BBYSL launched a new 19 & older Fast Pitch Softball Division. The division is designed for women 19 years and older as of January 1st of the current year that are tired of playing slow-pitch ball with the guys and get back to playing the game they grew up with. To our knowledge BBYSL is the ONLY LEAGUE in the Chicago South Area that has taken such a bold step.
In 2008 we had a great beginning and put together 3 teams to play an 8 game schedule on Sunday late afternoons and early evenings. We had women between the ages of 19 and 38 playing fast pitch softball with professional umpires at every game. IT was great to see the high level of play and the enthusiasm these women brought to the game field. BBYSL considers the 19 & Older Division an extension of its mission to provide recreational and educational softball programs to the youth of our community. These women are young at heart. WHAT FUN!
